Did you want to download Drupal themes?

It's occured to me that folks who are finding this page by searching for "drupal themes" on Google are actually looking for themes to download and/or purchase, rather than my services. (Imagine that!) If this is the case, please register and comment here. I'd like to know if I need to get to work on some themes for download.

There is a dearth of articles on how to design a page-by-page hierarchy website. It looks like your doing it and so is Mozilla .com and a lot of commercial sites and thankfully they do not look like blogs(wordpress) or slashdot(nukes) ayn article or pointers to which modules are involved and how to go about it will be really appreciated... I may not be able to come up with a theme but I would like to know how to maintain it if I got someone to build the site framework for me.

  • The "Web Services" menu is taxonomy menu
  • The "Other Resources" menu is Menu on the Fly, which is now core and manual menu editing through administer > menu
  • The other menus throughout the website are part of the book module, available by enabling the book navigation block

When I get a chance, I will write an article on this and blog when it's published. This is a good question and is related to this post on the Drupal website. Thanks!

Will these themes be donated to the drupal community? There are several designs out there that would look good on drupal powered sites. On the drupal forums, there is a theme wishlist in the theme development section. I would like to see some themes based on popular websites like CNN.com, News.com, CNET.com, WashingtonPost.com and others, but some people didn’t like this suggestion. I said "based on", as in maybe having a similar layout, maybe similar text and colors, not a complete 100% rip, which I don’t think would even be possible.

I think the idea of mimicing popular news site layout is a sound one. But as they say, time is money. If someone would like to sponsor such a project to be released for free to the community, maybe we could take on such a thing. Other sources of free themes:

  • Upon the discretion of the client, any themes that we develop can be made generic for purposes of donating to the community.
  • Any themes that are "retired" may also find their way to Drupal's contributed themes.
