I bought my first computer in 1996 from a newspaper ad. That didn't work out so well, so I saved up my graduation money and bought a custom jobber from a friend's friend. Of course, I started off my Internet experience like so many others in that era - with AOL. Somewhere along the line, they offered me a free, personal "web page" without the need to know any HTML. That was the wrong thing to say to me. I was struck with an immediate and pressing need to know what the HTML was all about.

I went to the college book store and found the book Using HTML 3.2 - I still have it around here somewhere. That book secured my college major and future career in web development. Unfortunately, the college was way behind the times and did not offer specific education in web technologies; I had to figure it out on my own. I did my first website "professionally" in 1998. My business name I got from a heading in the book, Advanced Web Design. As the name suggests, my work has "advanced" from simple 5 page websites to full-features Drupal websites.

How did I got involved in Drupal? That's a story for another day!
